LKBDU – Mandarin
Mandarin Grade 12 course provides opportunities for students to begin to develop and apply skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in the simplified Chinese of study. Students will communicate and interact in structured activities, with a focus on matters of personal interest and familiar topics, and will read and write simple texts in the language. Using a wide variety of sources, including original texts in the language, students will consolidate their language skills as they use increasingly complex linguistic elements and language conventions. Students will also have opportunities to enrich their knowledge of aspects of Chinese culture, including issues related to popular culture, linguistic communities in Canada, literature, history, geography, and the arts.
